Techniques:  frottage and engravings of linoleum matrices too on clay

Proceeding: the tiles in this work are part of a collective work that was made on 13 April 2019 in Parco Ventaglieri in Naples, with the children who frequent this park.

Their tiles were fired afterwards and placed in the part of the park they preferred to play in or in any case that they had chosen individually or in small groups. While these of mine were just proofs to show them the different techniques of engraving and bas-relief in clay that both they and some me too had never used before. In fact, by moving away from the work station, these free proofs prompted the children to take impressions not only of tree barks or stones in any case to make the original textures unrecognisable as such, but also of artefacts present in the park, resulting in tiles with increasingly abstract impressions. In the resulting tiles, it was not possible to distinguish the original nature whose imprint had been made: natural elements, artefacts, even industrial ones, or engravings made on the tiles with the most varied and unusual tools.

These proofs are waiting for a public wall to be destined with a reference to Parco Ventaglieri.
